Sarah Palin praises ‘fearless leader’ Trump for media bashing, hints at big announcement

Sarah Palin jumped into the contentious debate over the blockbuster reports that CNN and Buzzfeed dropped about Russian intelligence on President-elect Donald Trump. She cheered on her “fearless leader” and praised his angry press conference Wednesday where he boldly attacked the press.

She made the comments on a long Facebook post – here are some excerpts:

For one, when PE-Trump takes on corrupt lying lapdog media it is vindication and validation for those without a microphone who’ve been shot by reporters engaged in politics of personal destruction.

These “journalists” – bad characters that they are – hurt our nation tremendously; they disrespect those who fought and died to protect America’s freedom of the press; they spit upon the graves of our veterans. We deem those reporters and their publications irrelevant now.

HOPE in this arena soars upon seeing a fearless leader take on injustice.

APPRECIATION fills our heart when our new President exudes our collective red, white and blue courage in the face of purveyors of yellow journalism. Press members have worked as a herd of lost little lazy sheep. The herd is now decimated.

Palin has been a longstanding and outspoken critic of the press herself while being a stalwart supporter of Donald Trump from early on in the campaign. Now she’s lauding his attacks on the press, saying it will clear the road for the solutions he promised to America:

The impossible burden of dealing with unethical mediums is off our shoulder – and that’s one less excuse leaders will have as we ask them to finally do the job we send them to do in Washington.

Palin continued by advocating something diametrically opposed to Trump’s statements on the stump. “Get us out of debt,” she wrote, “Get off the addiction to OPM – spending Other People’s Money. We the people and our activism is the antidote.” But Trump had advocated borrowing much more money, citing the cheap cost of borrowing under current market conditions. He also seeks a trillion dollar stimulus spending bill, which Palin hasn’t attempted to square with conservatism, unlike her compatrioat Rush Limbaugh.

She ends with what appears to be a hint at a future announcement of a large project:

*** And stay tuned for the next step in finally shooing away the pesky numbskulls in what was once “mainstream” media. I’m going to do my part. I’ll soon announce the most helpful, satisfying, exciting leap YOU can take with me as we help build America’s future together. ***

It’s going to be great again!

Last month she appeared to have parted with Trump when she posted a message critical of his Carrier deal and calling it “crony capitalism.” But she later accused news outlets, including the Blaze, of “fake news” for reporting it as a break with the President-elect’s economic agenda, but offered no explanation of why the reporting was false.

She also used her Facebook page to announce her change of heart over Wikileaks and their founder Julian Assange. While she had once compared him to the terrorist group al-Qaida, she apologized when she discovered how useful their leaks were to the Trump campaign.
