NDSU students voice concerns over dorm survey question | INFORUM

FARGO — A recent survey sent by North Dakota State University's Residential Life office asks students about the idea of regulating one floor in every dorm hall be exclusive to students of color.

Residential staff said the floor would be an "optional learning community" if it were planned to be that way.

Asa Lo, a student of Asian descent, said the wording of the question made it seem like he and other students of color would be separated from white students.

"It just gives me a little bit of an uneasy feeling, but I understand that (Residential Life is) trying to help us," he said.
