SIOUX FALLS, S.D. — Following are the South Dakota Department of Health COVID-19 case rates, deaths, hospitalizations and vaccinations as of Thursday, Feb. 25. Because all data is preliminary, some numbers and totals may change from one day to the next.

Statewide case rates

  • NEW CASES: 156 (seven-day daily average: 160)
  • TOTAL ACTIVE CASES: 1,948
  • TOTAL CASES: 111,964
  • TOTAL RECOVERED: 108,144
  • DAILY TEST POSITIVITY RATE: 8.6%

Hospitalizations, deaths

  • NEW HOSPITALIZATIONS: 19

  • ACTIVE HOSPITALIZATIONS: 100

  • TOTAL HOSPITALIZATIONS: 6,589

  • DEATHS, NEWLY REPORTED: 8

  • TOTAL DEATHS: 1,872

  • INITIAL DOSE ADMINISTERED (IF 2-DOSE VACCINE): 130,148 by state, total: 23.16% of population*
