Holidays of the World Library Scavenger Hunt

Celebrate winter holidays of the world through this fun, self-led scavenger hunt for all ages. First, pick up a Holidays of the World booklet at the West Fargo Library service desk. Then, explore the stations throughout the library. After you visit each station and do each activity, checkoff the box in your booklet. Turn in your completed booklet at the library service desk by Sunday, Jan. 2 to receive a sweet surprise.

Mitten Tree Drive

From Dec. 1 through Jan. 3, you can donate new or like-new child-sized mittens, gloves, sweatpants, boots, underwear or coats at the library to support West Fargo students in need. Handmade mittens and gloves are welcome. The Mitten Tree can be found on the main floor of the library near the self-checkout machine.

Early Literacy Storytime: 10:30 – 11:30 a.m. Wednesdays at the West Fargo Public Library

Intended for children ages three to five, Early Literacy Storytimes are an opportunity for children to engage in art activities, stories, songs, movement activities, rhymes and more to help them develop literacy skills they will need for Kindergarten.

Technology Tutors Available: 2 – 5 p.m. Wednesdays at the West Fargo Public Library

Volunteer technology tutors are available to assist people with topics such as: basic computer, tablet, eReader or smartphone skills; basic internet and browser skills; setting up email or social media accounts; learning how to use apps and websites; and streaming and downloading digital media like ebooks, audiobooks and magazines. West Fargo Library at Holiday Tree Lighting: 5 – 7 p.m. at POW/MIA Plaza, 400 Sheyenne St, West Fargo

Friday, Dec. 3

Baby Boost Storytime: 10:30 – 11:30 p.m. at the West Fargo Public Library

Baby Boost Storytime encourages connections through language and social interaction. This storytime provides a safe and encouraging space for children ages 2 and under and their caregivers to interact and grow language and social skills through introduction to books, rhymes, signs, and play. Activities from this storytime help foster an emotional connection between the child and the caregiver which helps to create a positive association with learning and reading.

Sunday, Dec. 5

Pine Needle Sew + Chat: 1:30 – 4:30 p.m. at West Fargo Public Library

Pine Needle Sew + Chat is an opportunity for pine needle sewers to get together and work on their sewing projects. Bring your works in progress or begin a new project. The class is open to anyone who has attended a Pine Needle Basketry class either at West Fargo Public Library or elsewhere. Handmade Gifts Craft Event for Teens: 7 – 8 p.m. at West Fargo Public Library

Tis the season for gift giving! Teens are invited to the West Fargo Library to hang out, enjoy refreshments and take part in a number of different DIY gift crafts. Participants will be making/decorating mugs, scrunchies, photo frames and bath bombs! This program is designed for middle school and high school students.
